Hike to Grassi Lakes near Canmore

This last weekend we went for a great hike with the kids up to a small lake.  On our way we saw a waterfall, had lunch at the lake, and ended with Jason jumping in to the reservoir for a quick dip.  It was a beautiful hot day!  As always when leaving the house with kids, we think we have packed for a weekend when we only leave the house for a few hours...and even still....with all the stuff... we manage to forget things- like the ergo baby carrier....the chocolate chip cookies to have with lunch...and extra shorts for Zoey.

But it was a great hike!

Nova Scotia!

Just a quick posting, out of order...but with the weather cooling down in the near future...it is nice to remember some fun in the sun and sand this summer.

Homemade Pops! Banana Coconut Raspberry Pop

at the beginning of the summer I picked up a popsicle mold kit, bpa-free at the baby store...and have been making fun popsicles- so far I've been making a banana coconut raspberry pop that has been quite a favorite....and today Jude got to have his very own popsicle and he did quite well with it.

First Day of Preschool!

Zoey had her first day back at Seedlings, a Spanish preschool that's very close to our house (so convenient for me!)  Here are some shots of her before I had to hurry around getting her and Jude ready.  We are still trying to figure out our Fall routine...preschool in the afternoon is going to be tricky with Jude's nap schedule, but he might be dropping his 2 naps down to 1 soon...So excited to hear about Zoey's day when she gets home from school!  When I dropped her off she said to her teacher, "Como esta? My name is ZOEY"  so cute.

Walking on the Moon

Giant steps are what you take...walking on the moon.

or walking on Nana and Papa's beach in Nova Scotia.  Zoey had a great time and ran and ran...in the water and the sand, exploring critters in the tide pools..and having a great time!
